The Amputee Coalition is hosting Limb Loss Education Day November 2014 Palm Springs!!
Limb Loss Education Day (LLED) Palm Desert, California, a full day of education and recreation, will take place at the YMCA, located in the beautiful and scenic Palm Desert, California! It will be packed full of activities, educational seminars and interaction between support groups, healthcare providers, and the limb loss community at large. Details on the educational sessions will be posted as the session speakers are confirmed. The educational sessions are aimed at providing timely information to the limb loss community about issues such as trends in care and services, public policies related to limb loss and information for amputees and their caregivers which will help them to live fuller lives with limb loss. Educational speakers share their expertise and experience in morning sessions and often over the lunch period as well. The Amputee Coalition is collaborating with Orthotic & Prosthetic Activities Foundation (OPAF's) First Clinics and will present First Dive! First Dive is an outreach program that introduces the amputee population to the emotional and physical benefits of scuba diving. It is said and understood that scuba offers participants a freedom that they never thought they would feel again.
